1, Use Specially Formulated Creams, Lotions and Scrubs

Your skin requires loads of moisture to retain its soft and supple nature. So, it is important to use only those products which have been specially formulated for dry skin. When it comes to scrubs, moisturisers and cleansers, using the same product for body and face is not a good idea. You can find different products for face, hands and feet, body etc.

2, Key to Showering

You need to shower every day to maintain proper hygiene. However, try not to spend too much time in the shower, as water tends to strip your skin of moisture. Also, it would be a good idea to bathe with warm water than hot water. Use a moisturising body wash or soap for better results.

3, Essential Moisturising

Moisturising is an integral part of the daily beauty routine. It is all the more essential when you have dry skin. It is a good practise to apply moisturiser as soon as you step out of the shower. Don’t forget to moisturise your skin, every time you wash it with water and soap.

Olive oil is rich in Vitamin E and antioxidants whereas egg yolk has Vitamin A and other nutrients. These when mixed together can work wonders for your skin. Mix a teaspoon of olive oil to two yolks of egg and whip it. Apply this on your skin and let it dry. Wash this off with water and then apply your favourite moisturiser. Following this regimen on a regular basis would ensure that your skin retains its moisture.

8, Yoghurt & Banana

Banana is rich in Vitamin A and thus moisturises the skin. Yoghurt, on the other hand helps in locking the moisture. Mash a ripe banana and mix it with yoghurt to make a smooth paste. Applying this paste regularly to the skin and washing it off with warm water ensures that the skin does not get too dry.

9, Cream of Milk

With its natural moisturising properties, milk cream helps to maintain the pH balance of the skin. Mixing milk cream with a small amount of lemon juice and one teaspoon of milk and then applying it to your skin before taking a shower is one of the best ways to keep your skin moisturised.

10, Coconut Oil

Massage your skin with liberal amounts of coconut oil before going to bed. The fatty acids in the coconut oil help in replenishing any lost moisture of the skin.

Rich in antioxidants, vitamins and fatty acids, avocado penetrates your skin to improve its pH level. Make a mask by mixing the pulp of half avocado and half cup of honey. Apply this on your skin.
